Code of Conduct

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some WCTC Library policies have been amended:

At this time, food and beverages should be consumed in dining areas and lounges, not in the SEC. The Owl’s Nest Café, next to the SEC, is open as a place to eat even though it is not currently serving food. There are vending machines available in the Owl's Nest Café as well as in the Hub cafeteria, where food is being served.

Please keep your personal belongings in your control at all times. For security reasons, items should not be left unattended. Library staff may remove items left for more than 15 minutes and turn them in to Lost and Found. The Library is not responsible for items left unattended.

Respect the noise zones:

The Green Zone is the collaboration area, near the Owls Nest Café, ideal for those who wish to work with groups or talk with others.

  • Moderate conversation levels.
  • Considerate phone usage. Set cell phone to silent or vibrate.
  • Personal music allowed only if inaudible to others.

The Yellow Zone is the quiet area, near the Information Desk, ideal for those who wish to work with minimal disturbances.

  • Whispered conversation. Low speaking voice.
  • Quiet, brief phone conversation or texting.
  • Set cell phone to silent or vibrate.
  • Personal music allowed only if inaudible to others.

The Red Zone is the silent area, near the fireplace, ideal for those who wish to work with no disturbances.

  • No conversations in this area.
  • No cell phone usage. Set cell phone to silent or vibrate.
  • Personal music allowed only if inaudible to others.
