Library Essential Research Workshops

There are seven library workshops available as tutorials to help you learn more about the library, evaluating sources, different source types and citing in APA or MLA format. Click on the titles to complete the tutorials. You can retake a tutorial if you'd like.

Learn the difference between magazines, trade publications and scholarly journals, as well as when to use them.

Learn the basics of completing in-text citations throughout your paper in APA format. 

Learn the basics of making a reference page in APA format. 

Learn the basics of completing in-text citations throughout your paper in MLA format

Learn the basics of making a Works Cited page. 

 

Each tutorial contains videos and text to explain the topic and has 10 questions throughout to test your understanding. If an instructor is requiring a workshop for a class there is an option at the end of the tutorial to get a PDF and save it or email the results to yourself or another person. Follow your instructor's instructions for submitting documentation that you completed the tutorial.
