The WCTC Library serves the students, faculty, staff, and residents of the Waukesha County Technical College district.

Equipment Checkout Policy Statements of Responsibility 

A signed Statement of Responsibility must be on file to check out equipment.

If you wish to borrow a webcam, you must first sign the Webcam Statement of Responsibility. To borrow a webcam from the WCTC Library, you must be a currently enrolled WCTC student. You may sign it in person when you borrow the item at the Library Information Desk, or you may sign it ahead of timePlease be aware that if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must sign this document on your behalf. Below is the text of the statement.

1. A WCTC ID must be presented to check out a webcam.

2. The loan period for a webcam is 14 days.

3. Webcams may not be renewed.

4. You are responsible for the webcam and accessories while it is checked out to you, including replacement costs of all parts if lost or stolen.

5. All Waukesha County Technical College Campus and Academic Policies apply, including the WCTC Internet Use Policy.

6. Do not tamper with the webcam or accessories including the case. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the webcam.

7. Webcams must be returned in good condition, which includes being free from food and other environmental residue.

8. Do not leave the webcam unattended.

9. Webcam problems should be reported to the WCTC Library Information Desk immediately.

10. Return the webcam to a staff person at the WCTC Library Information Desk at least 15 minutes before closing.

11. Overdue fines of $1.00 per day for each day that the WCTC Library is open will accumulate until the item is returned in good condition or the replacement fee is paid. Items are declared “lost” after 24 hours. Notices of lost status will be sent via email and SMS text message. At 3 days, the replacement cost of $80 will be charged to your WCTC Library account. Holds will also be placed on your WCTC Library account and your WCTC student account. At 7 days overdue, the WCTC Dean of Students will be notified, and appropriate action will be taken.

 

If you wish to borrow a student laptop, you must first sign the Laptop Statement of Responsibility. You may sign it in person when you borrow the item at the Library Information Desk, or you may sign it ahead of time. To borrow a laptop you must be a currently enrolled WCTC student.  Please be aware that if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must sign this document on your behalf.


1.  A WCTC ID must be presented to check-out a student laptop.

2. Student laptops may only be used on campus, and they must be returned before the WCTC Library closes on the day borrowed.

3. Student laptops may not be renewed.

4. You are responsible for the student laptop and laptop accessories while it is checked out to you, including replacement costs of all parts if lost or stolen.

5. All Waukesha County Technical College Policies apply, including the WCTC Resources Acceptable Use Policy (INF-211).6

6. .Do not tamper with the student laptop or laptop accessories including the case. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the laptop.

7. Student laptops must be returned in good condition, which includes being free from food and other environmental residue.

8.Do not leave the student laptop unattended.

9. Anything downloaded to this student laptop will be deleted when it is returned.

10. Student laptop problems should be reported to the WCTC Library Information Desk immediately.

11. Return the student laptop to a staff person at the WCTC Library Information Desk at least 15 minutes before closing.

12. Overdue fines of $1.00 per day for each day that the WCTC Library is open will accumulate until the student laptop is returned in good condition or the replacement fee is paid. Student laptops are declared “lost” after 24 hours. Notices of lost status will be sent via email and SMS text message. At 3 days, the replacement cost will be charged to your WCTC Library account: $935 for a Windows laptop or $1,645 for a MacBook Pro. Holds will also be placed on your WCTC Library account and your WCTC student account. At 7 days overdue, the WCTC Dean of Students will be notified, and appropriate action will be taken. 

If you wish to borrow an iPad, you must first sign the iPad Statement of Responsibility. You may sign it in person when you borrow the item at the Library Information Desk, or you may sign it ahead of time. To borrow a webcam you must be a currently enrolled WCTC student. Please be aware that if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must sign this document on your behalf.

2. The loan period for an iPad is 28 days. iPads may not be renewed.

3. You are responsible for the iPad and iPad accessories while it is checked out to you, including replacement costs of all parts if lost or stolen.

4. All Waukesha County Technical College Policies apply, including the WCTC Resources Acceptable Use Policy (INF-211).

5. Do not tamper with the iPad or iPad accessories including the case.

6. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the iPad.

7. iPads must be returned in good condition, which includes being free from food and other environmental residue.

8. Do not leave the iPad unattended.

9. Anything downloaded to this iPad will be deleted when it is returned.

If you wish to borrow a mobile wi-fi hotspot, you must first sign the Mobile Wi-fi Hotspot Statement of Responsibility. You may sign it in person when you borrow the item at the Library Information Desk, or you may sign it ahead of time. To borrow a hotspot you must be a currently enrolled WCTC student. Please be aware that if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must sign this document on your behalf.


1. A WCTC ID must be presented to check-out a mobile wi-fi hotspot.

2. The loan period for a mobile wi-fi hotspot is 28 days. Mobile wi-fi hotspots may not be renewed. Y

3. You are responsible for the mobile wi-fi hotspot and accessories while it is checked out to you, including replacement costs of all parts if lost or stolen.

4. All Waukesha County Technical College Policies apply, including the WCTC Resources Acceptable Use Policy (INF-211).

5. Do not tamper with the mobile wi-fi hotspot or accessories including the case.

6. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the mobile wi-fi hotspot.

7. Mobile wi-fi hotspots must be returned in good condition, which includes being free from food and other environmental residue.

8. Do not leave the mobile wi-fi hotspot unattended.

9. Mobile wi-fi hotspot problems should be reported to the WCTC Library Information Desk immediately.

10. Return the mobile wi-fi hotspot to a staff person at the WCTC Library Information Desk at least 15 minutes before closing.

11. Overdue fines of $1.00 per day for each day that the WCTC Library is open will accumulate until the mobile wi-fi hotspot is returned in good condition or the replacement fee is paid. Mobile wi-fi hotspots are declared “lost” after 24 hours. Notices of lost status will be sent via email and SMS text message. At 3 days, the replacement cost of $115 will be charged to your WCTC Library account. Holds will also be placed on your WCTC Library account and your WCTC student account. At 7 days overdue, the WCTC Dean of Students will be notified, and appropriate action will be taken. Hotspots more than 7 days late will result in a 1-year suspension of mobile Wi-Fi hotspot borrowing privileges.

 

If you wish to borrow a projector, you must first sign the Projector Statement of Responsibility. You may sign it in person when you borrow the item at the Library Information Desk, or you may sign it ahead of time. To borrow a projector you must be a WCTC student, faculty, or staff member. Please be aware that if you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must sign this document on your behalf.


1. A WCTC ID must be presented to check-out a projector.

2. The loan period for a projector is 7 days.

3. Projectors may not be renewed.

4. You are responsible for the projector and accessories while it is checked out to you, including replacement costs of all parts if lost or stolen.

5. All Waukesha County Technical College Policies apply, including the WCTC Resources Acceptable Use Policy (INF-211).

6. Do not tamper with the projector or accessories including the case.

7. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the projector.

8. Projectors must be returned in good condition, which includes being free from food and other environmental residue. Do not leave the projector unattended.

9. Projector problems should be reported to the WCTC Library Information Desk immediately.

10. Return the projector to a staff person at the WCTC Library Information Desk at least 15 minutes before closing.

11. Overdue fines of $1.00 per day for each day that the WCTC Library is open will accumulate until the projector is returned in good condition or the replacement fee is paid. Projectors are declared “lost” after 24 hours. Notices of lost status will be sent via email and SMS text message. At 3 days, the replacement cost of $515 will be charged to your WCTC Library account. Holds will also be placed on your WCTC Library account and your WCTC student account. At 7 days overdue, the WCTC Dean of Students will be notified, and appropriate action will be taken.

If you wish to borrow a digital document camera, you must first sign the Digital Document Camera Statement of Responsibility. You may sign it in person when you borrow the item at the WCTC Library Information Desk, or you may sign it ahead of time. To borrow a digital document camera you must be a WCTC faculty or staff member.

 

1. A WCTC ID must be presented to check-out a digital document camera.

2. The loan period for a digital document camera is until the end of the academic term.

3. The digital document camera is to be used for instructional purposes only. You must be teaching a course during the term in which the camera is loaned to you.

4. You are responsible for the digital document camera and accessories while it is checked out to you, including replacement costs of all parts if lost or stolen.

5. All Waukesha County Technical College Policies apply, including the Resources Acceptable Use Policy (INF-211).

6. Do not tamper with the digital document camera or accessories including the case.

7. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the digital document camera.

8. Digital document cameras must be returned in good condition, which includes being free from food and other environmental residue.

9. Do not leave the digital document camera unattended.

10. Digital document camera problems should be reported to the WCTC Library Information Desk immediately.

11. Return the digital document camera to a staff person at the WCTC Library Information Desk at least 15 minutes before closing. Failure to return a digital document camera prior to closing by the due date will result in the WCTC assessing the replacement cost of $160 to your Library record. If you wish to borrow a conference camera, you must first sign the Conference Camera Statement of Responsibility. You may sign it in person when you borrow the item at the WCTC Library Information Desk, or you may sign it ahead of time. To borrow a conference camera you must be a WCTC faculty or staff member.


1. A WCTC ID must be presented to check-out a digital document camera.

2. The loan period for a digital document camera is until the end of the academic term.

3. The digital document camera is to be used for instructional purposes only.

4. You must be teaching a course during the term in which the camera is loaned to you.

5. You are responsible for the digital document camera and accessories while it is checked out to you, including replacement costs of all parts if lost or stolen.

6. All Waukesha County Technical College Policies apply, including the Resources Acceptable Use Policy (INF-211).

7. Do not tamper with the digital document camera or accessories including the case. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the digital document camera.

6. Do not tamper with the staff laptop or laptop accessories including the case. Do not attach any equipment not designed for use with the laptop.

7. Staff laptops must be returned in good condition, which includes being free from food and other environmental residue. Do not leave the staff laptop unattended.

8. Anything downloaded to this staff laptop will be deleted when it is returned.

9. Staff laptop problems should be reported to the WCTC Library Information Desk immediately.

10. Return the staff laptop to a staff person at the WCTC Library Information Desk at least 15 minutes before closing.

11. Failure to return a staff laptop prior to closing by the due date will result in the WCTC Library assessing the replacement cost of $935 to your WCTC Library record. A hold will also be placed on your employee record.
