Confidentiality

WCTC Mental Health Counseling Services places a high priority on privacy and confidentiality.

All student appointments, personal information, and files are strictly confidential. Counseling records are NOT part of your academic records. To assure safety and follow the law, counselors may be required to share information without written consent in these rare circumstances:

• to protect you or others from imminent harm
• to protect children, disabled or the elderly from abuse
• when mandated by a court order
• where otherwise required or permitted by law
