Counseling Services: Mental Health Awareness

Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It can also impact how we relate to others, handle stress, and make decisions. Mental Health can include and is not limited to the following situations:

-Anxiety and stress                                                -Difficulties with alcohol or other drugs                       
-Depression and loneliness                                     -Eating disorders                                                                                       
-Fitting in/feeling accepted                                   -Mood and personality disorder                      
-Transition to college                                             -Thoughts of harming self or others
-Relational concerns with partner, friends,             -Other anxiety disorders
 and family                                                            -PTSD and trauma
-Decision making                                                    -Grief and loss

-Lack of motivation                                                -Domestic violence or abuse

Nami National Alliance on Mental Illness National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 

A mental illness is a condition that affects a person's thinking, feeling or mood. Such conditions may affect someone's ability to relate to others and function each day. Each person will have different experiences, even people with the same diagnosis.

ULifeline is an anonymous, confidential, online resource center, where college students can be comfortable searching for the information they need and want regarding emotional health.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is the lead federal agency for research on mental disorders. NIMH is one of the 27 Institutes and Centers that make up the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the largest biomedical research agency in the world. NIH is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
