After the workshop, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand different causes and consequences of conflict

  • Identify personal natural tendencies as it relates to dealing with conflict

  • Develop constructive methods for responding to conflict

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of depression
  • Understand how depression may manifest based on individual circumstances
  • Apply coping strategies to help with depressive symptoms

  • Define the grief and loss experience in nonlinear terms that covers more than death

  • Describe cultural influences on inward and outward responses to loss

  • Identify vulnerability to complicated grief

  • Define ways to address behaviors, feelings and thoughts that come with bereavement

  • Describe privilege, stereotypes, and micro-aggressions
  • Describe ways of increasing multi-cultural awareness
