Campus Cupboard

Currently enrolled students may access the Campus Cupboard, WCTC's on-campus food pantry, for nutritional assistance. Students must show a current WCTC student ID card in order to pick up a pre-packed bag of groceries, which contains breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Limit one bag per week per student. Campus Cupboard bags may be picked up at the Student Life office (C-121). After hours pick ups are also available.

Awards / Honor Societies

Awards Ceremonies

Each semester, the Student Life office sponsors the Student Awards Program. This is a time for us to recognize the outstanding achievements of our graduating students.

Program Awards

Faculty are asked each semester to nominate (1) student per program to receive the "Outstanding Program Award." These students represent the "best of the best" in their respective academic program. The selection process is left to the discretion of each program area, but the following criteria should be used:

  • Student MUST be graduating during that semester
  • Must be graduating from a technical diploma, associate degree or apprenticeship
  • 3.0 or higher GPA in their program
  • Involved in college and/or community activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and program excellence

Club Awards

Club Advisors are asked each semester to nominate one graduating club member to receive the "Outstanding Club Member Award." Each club is free to use their own selection process.

Outstanding Student Award

All Program Award recipients are invited to apply for one of four Outstanding Student Awards (one per School). The students are asked to complete an application and submit a professional resume. The awards committee, comprised of a cross-section of staff members, conducts interviews to select the top student in each school who represents the spirit and mission of WCTC.

 Honor Societies

Phi Theta Kappa is an organization that has been named the official honor society of two-year colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges and recognizes the academic achievement of college students. PTK provides opportunities for its members to grow as scholars and leaders.

Students are eligible for membership by invite only, having achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, enrolled in a two-year Associate Degree Program and having completed at least 12 credit hours at WCTC.

This Honor Society opportunity is offered in the Fall Semester at WCTC. Students are invited via their WCTC student email account, typically in late September. Since it is only offered once per academic year, timely membership application is essential when this opportunity is offered.

For more information, visit the PTK website.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education. NTHS encourages higher scholastic achievement, cultivates a desire for personal excellence, and helps top students find success in today's highly competitive workplace.

Students are eligible for membership by invite only having achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, enrolled in a Career Technical Program and having completed at least 12 credit hours at WCTC.

This Honor Society opportunity is offered in the Spring Semester at WCTC. Students are invited via their WCTC student email account, typically in late January. Since it is only offered once per academic year, timely membership application is essential when this opportunity is offered.

Check out the NTHS website for more information.
