UWM Center for International Education Funding

UWM's Center for International Education invites faculty and lecturers from the Wisconsin Technical College System to apply for funding towards course and professional development activities supporting internationalization of the curriculum taking place in Spring 2021 and Summer 2021. Funding for these activities is provided by UWM’s US Department of Education Title VI National Resource Centers grant. Awards this year will be a maximum of $2,000.

 Funds may be used for costs associated with faculty and lecturer activities including the following:

  • Participation in virtual conferences, workshops, and other professional development events that will lead to the creation of new courses or revision of existing courses with international content;
  • Sponsorship of guest lecturers, webinars, program evaluators, etc. that contributes to the internationalization of the curriculum on your campus; 
  • Development of shareable resources that support campus internationalization. 

Please Note: International travel will not be funded due to potential complications and travel restrictions associated with the COVID pandemic and other global events.

ICISP Professional Exchange

Global Education is pleased to announce applications are being accepted for the 2022-2023 Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs (ICISP) Professional Exchange!

This innovative international exchange program matches U.S. faculty and administrators with counterparts in other countries with the goal of engaging in intercultural understanding, professional development, and promoting global understanding. For 2022-2023, the program will include exchanges with Finland and the Netherlands.

Participants should be prepared to meet the hosting obligations of the entire two-week time frame for each segment of the exchange, and understand the time commitment required prior to applying for the program. Participants must also recognize that it requires commitment to providing a meaningful and rich experience to their visiting partner, and should set aside adequate time to fulfill all hosting requirements.

Exchange dates are:

  • US Hosting Dates: October 15-29, 2022, Finland and Netherlands participants travel to the U.S.
  • Visiting Dates: May 13-27, 2023, ICISP U.S. participants travel to Finland and the Netherlands

Eligibility: Any exempt WCTC faculty or staff member.
